Do you want one of your childhood dreams to come true? Improve your knowledge of narrow gauge railway traction? Find out the truth about real French railway enthusiasts? Just come for a footplate experience on the P'tit train de la Haute Somme! A full day with our steam locomotive crews will be unforgettable! You will help to prepare and fire the locomotive in the morning and run the passengers trains in the afternoon to the end of service in the evening.

Although steam locomotives have always fascinated people and seem a bit complicated to work, spending one day on one of ours will enable you to understand how it works, to learn the ropes and why not, if the driver agrees, drive on the line a little! Whether you are a railway enthusiast who wants to go out of interest or just a train passenger with no particular interest but a simple curiosity about steam engines or French railway society operating, there is no need to be an engineer. Do not hesitate! Join the volunteers!

This very special experience is always an enjoyable gift for railway enthusiasts, friends or relatives. They will retain a long lasting memory of this day when they fired the loco, stoked the coal and perhaps even drove a while (and enjoyed an enormous lunch just as we French do!). A few coal marks on their faces (and clothes...) will be as many a witness of a very special and satisfying day.
